Contract Standards

Standard interfaces and patterns for Koinos smart contracts.

Overview

Contract standards ensure interoperability between different applications and provide consistent interfaces for common functionality.

Token Standards

KCS-1: Fungible Tokens

  • Purpose: Standard interface for fungible tokens
  • Functions: transfer, balanceOf, totalSupply, approve, allowance
  • Usage: Most tokens follow this standard for compatibility

KCS-2: Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs)

  • Purpose: Standard interface for unique digital assets
  • Functions: ownerOf, transferFrom, approve, tokenURI
  • Usage: NFT collections and marketplaces

DeFi Standards

KCS-3: Decentralized Exchange

  • Purpose: Standard interface for DEX contracts
  • Functions: addLiquidity, removeLiquidity, swap
  • Usage: Trading platforms and aggregators

KCS-4: Staking Contracts

  • Purpose: Standard interface for staking mechanisms
  • Functions: stake, unstake, claimRewards, getStakeInfo
  • Usage: Yield farming and staking platforms

Governance Standards

KCS-5: Governance Tokens

  • Purpose: Standard interface for governance participation
  • Functions: propose, vote, execute, getVotingPower
  • Usage: DAO and governance systems

Best Practices

  1. Follow established standards for interoperability
  2. Implement proper interfaces for contract interactions
  3. Use consistent naming conventions
  4. Provide comprehensive documentation
  5. Test compatibility with existing tools
